Folks,
Here is “SAP Portal Support” one step further! Mikogo is a cool web conferencing tool which is free just like the content sharing in this site!! A lot of people send me emails with error messages and they request me to fix their issue. I think a web conference tool will ease the communication and hence collaboration will be highly effective! so the next time you have an issue leave a message on my Google Voice Number and schedule a web conference meeting in Mikogo and I will chat with you on Gtalk and help you with your SAP Portal Issues...

Portal is acting weird !!
how many times have you heard an end-user complain like that ???
the Portal Guy/Basis Guy is always blamed for the system to act weird....However you as a Portal Guy have fingers to point too....
Browser
Server
Portal application
Network
there are scenarios where user complains of slow portal connection and this could be the internet speed as well.....so use the following to check the internet speed. a good Portal application should run fine depending on the way it is installed (3-10 mbps)
1.Speedtest.net Internet Speed Test
2.AuditMyPC.com Internet Speed Test
3.CNET Bandwidth Meter Speed Test
sometimes a user is playing an online movie and consuming the network bandwidth or an end user has christmas decorations on his browser (I mean toolbars, funny short cuts etc) OR a user is running on a browser SAP doesnt support... NOW how many fingers do we have to point ????
anyways lets get back to help them....
Also the browser can be acting funny too....so check out these tools to determine whats going on...
Browser testing tools:
1.Sun spider
2.Celtic kane
3.V8
4.iBench
5.httpwatch basic
